George Rodd established his workshop in 1919 in Melbourne where his brother Ernest joined him as a working partner in 1922. Both were skilled silversmiths and the company initially focused on crafting silver jewellery and silverware. During the 1920s to the 1960s, G. & E. Rodd were recognised as leading jewellery and silverware manufacturers in Melbourne
